I still play out ideas in my head. Complete stories of what would have happened if I made different choices throughout my life. But no story is honestly realistic. They all play out like they would on tv. Nothing bad happens in them. It just plays favorites with the happy outcome. So no matter what, it’s tainted. It’s not real. It’s just the best parts.

I’ve always enjoyed the idea of parallel universes. Ones that break off from a simple decision, the only difference is that you said yes instead of no at some point in your life. And then to see how your life would be after that one simple decision. That decision that caused your time line to shoot off on its own, to start different time line separate from the one you’re aware of. And then to think that if a new time line happens when I make any kind of decision, what about everyone else and from them there’s different you’s who will make choices on their own, it’s just a constant loop. I want to see the time line of choice made. Lately I’ve been thinking about how one choice would have turned out, but I can’t help but to think of it with the movie logic I’ve grown up with. In the end I’ll only know this time line, and what ever happens in it.

I miss her. I haven’t thought about her like this in a while. Old memories were brought up and her constant absence is made drastically clear. I had questions for everything and she had answers to match. So many more questions now, but no answers to match, no answers to match. Now it feels like my questions just fall to the pit of my stomach and eat away at who I was, leaving just a shell of what I am.

My island like foundation is dissolving, quickly leaving me stranded in the ocean. With reality disguised as hungry sharks, the feeding circle starts to close in on me. Unlike great whites who would chomp me down in two bites, these reality sharks, slowly pass by and take with them the tiniest bite of my flesh. The more bites they take, the more sharks come to feed, until I look around and see nothing but smooth gray skin all around me. I am at the mercy of the perfect killing machine. Praying for a salvation that’s seems never to arrive.
